Boston Bruins is an awesome hockey team, but this one little fan has become bigger celebrity on internet than the heroes of him, Bruins players. If you ask any of the teams player, who is the toughest member of their team, the answer would be always the same: Liam Fitzgerald.
Well what makes Liam, 8, (who by the way has downs syndrome) so tough? Well he has already experienced the hard side of life. At the age of four, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It sure wasn’t easy, but Liam beated the cancer in three and a half years.
After recovering his illnes, Liam has became a big sports fan. He follows mainly the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins. Liam doesn’t watch much cartoons, he prefers sports highlights, which he watches from hes iPad always when his parents allow him to.
Hockey is definently Liams favourite sports. He wishes that he could skate, but now he only can play endless knee-hockey games with his older brother and friends.
“He’s so small and cute,” Liam’s mom said. “He recognizes the players. But he’s not a three-year-old. He knows who these guys are, their positions. He understands the game.”
